Formosa Smart Energy’s largest lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery and module plant in Taiwan, with a capacity of 2.1GWh, is designed around the principles of low-carbon construction, high energy efficiency, water recycling, and self-supplied green electricity. Its main structure reduces over 7,082 tons of carbon emissions—equivalent to offsetting the annual electricity-related emissions of nearly 3,600 Taiwanese households. By maximizing rooftop solar panel installation with an annual output exceeding 1.8 million kWh, the plant can fully power its office areas, demonstrating a concrete commitment and capability to reduce carbon emissions.

In alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—including clean energy, sustainable cities, and climate action—renewable energy has become more vital than ever.
Since 2013, the Formosa Plastics Group has been actively deploying photovoltaic systems, and in recent years, has conducted a comprehensive rooftop inventory across its plants, dormitories, and parking structures. An additional 184.3 MW of solar capacity is now in the planning pipeline.
